Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for GLP Wise Pro subscriptions and the one-time Lifetime purchase, and what your rights are under the South African Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA"). It is published by FNC Labs (Pty) Ltd, the operator of GLP Wise.
1. Who you are buying from
When you start a GLP Wise Pro subscription or buy the Lifetime tier, you are entering into an agreement with FNC Labs (Pty) Ltd (CIPC reg. 2026/345752/07) for the GLP Wise service. The actual payment is processed by Apple App Store (on iOS) or Google Play Billing (on Android), with subscription state reconciled by our processor RevenueCat. We never see or store your card details.
2. Free trial
All Pro plans include a 7-day free trial. During the free trial we do not charge your card. If you cancel before the trial ends, you are not billed. If you do not cancel, the subscription auto-renews into the paid plan you chose (Monthly or Yearly) and your card is charged for the first paid period.
3. Auto-renewal and cancellation (subscriptions)
The Monthly (R49/month) and Yearly (R399/year) plans auto-renew at the end of each billing period. To avoid being charged for the next period:
- iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → GLP Wise → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date or Apple may bill you.
- Android: Google Play → Profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → GLP Wise → Cancel subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
After cancellation you keep Pro access until the end of the billing period you already paid for. Cancellation does not automatically refund the current period — see the next sections for refund rules.
4. CPA §44 cooling-off (consumer-protection refund right)
Under section 44 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, a South African consumer who buys goods or services as a result of direct marketing has a 5-business-day cooling-off period during which they may cancel without reason and obtain a full refund. The CPA does not give a general right to cancel any online purchase — it specifically applies to direct-marketing transactions.
If you believe your GLP Wise purchase was made as a result of direct marketing from FNC Labs (Pty) Ltd and you want to exercise CPA §44 rights, email support@glpwise.com within 5 business days of purchase. We will assess the request and, if it falls under §44, refund the purchase in full via Apple or Google.
If a CPA right that cannot be excluded by contract applies to your specific situation, that right always overrides anything else in this policy.
5. Apple App Store refunds
Apple is the merchant of record for all iOS purchases. To request a refund:
- Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the GLP Wise charge and select "Request a refund".
- Or open the App Store, tap your profile icon → Purchase History → the GLP Wise charge → "Report a Problem".
Apple makes the final decision on App Store refunds. We can ask Apple to support your request, but we cannot directly issue a refund for an iOS purchase. Email us at support@glpwise.com if you want us to back your case.
6. Google Play refunds
Google is the merchant of record for all Android purchases. To request a refund:
- Within 48 hours of purchase: Google Play → menu → Account → Order history → the GLP Wise order → "Request a refund".
- After 48 hours: contact Google Play support.
Google makes the final decision. We can support your request to Google — email support@glpwise.com with the order ID.
7. Lifetime purchase
The Lifetime tier (R999, one-time payment) is a once-off in-app purchase. It is non-recurring and does not auto-renew. Refund rules are the same as for subscriptions: requests go through Apple or Google as the merchant of record, and CPA §44 may apply if the purchase resulted from direct marketing.
8. What we cannot refund
Subject to your CPA rights and the Apple / Google refund policies above, we generally cannot refund:
- Partial use of a billing period — if you cancel mid-month, you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, but you do not get a pro-rata refund of the unused portion.
- Charges made by Apple or Google after the cancellation deadline — once Apple or Google has processed a renewal charge, only Apple or Google can reverse it.
- Charges made on an Apple ID or Google account that you no longer have access to — you must request the refund from the platform with the original account.
9. Account deletion vs cancellation
Cancelling a subscription stops the next renewal but does not delete your account. To delete your account and all server-side data, use Profile → Settings → Delete Account in the app, or email support@glpwise.com. Deleting your account does not by itself trigger a refund — you still need to request the refund from Apple, Google or us as set out above.
